Occasionally visit the NLS website as they have some interesting movies – this time was no exception with a wonderful film called “The Inauguration of the First Highland Air Service” featuring some really crisp footage of lovely Monospar ST-4 G-ACEW. Never seen an aircraft “christened” in such a fashion before!
Still-extant DH Dragon G-ACIT and DH60 G-AAWO also appear among others –

Thank you for flagging that one up. The Monospar did well to lift those 4 beefy blokes on the power of two Pobjoys. Interesting that both the Monospar and Dragon had to be hand-swung. I now know what I need to complete my flying gear….. a large hat to be worn at all times!
