Supermarine Stranraer history: Any confirmed combat?

I am currently carrying out some research into the Supermarine Stranraer, and its relatively unexceptional career. I happened to find a rather interesting photograph online, taken from the cockpit of a He 111 as it’s about to pass a Stranraer, I believe somewhere over the Shetlands.
Can anyone shed any more light into this? And does anyone have specific sources where Stranraers had combat records whilst in Coastal Command? To the best of my knowledge (He 111 photo aside), there isn’t any record of the Stranraer getting involved with combat directly (Capo Lena capturing aside). Would be nice to see evidence to the contrary!

Seems you’re correct! The cockpit does bulge out further than that of the Stranraer, should have spotted that.
I’ve heard tell that this photograph may very well be a propaganda fake, a construct in order to bolster the perception of the Luftwaffe. Could well be, but even if it’s genuine, I know of no other direct combat involving the Stranraer.
I think this is where the only route to knowing for sure would be anyone knowing of specific combat logs/ personal diary mentions.

It looks as though your pic is actually of a SARO London rather than a Stranny. Shape of the rudders is particularly distinctive.

I’m sorry I can’t help with any info on Strannies in combat, but it’s an interesting question.

Overall, I’ve been as useful to you as a chocolate fireguard…
