Supermarine Swift G-SWIF

Does anyone know who currently owns this aeroplane and whether it is still being restored to fly?
It’s appearance at RIAT over the past weekend must have generated plenty of interest.

They have a storage facility available pending a new display building at a new site. Top marks for what is a very sensible decision.

Any news on the Swift at Shepards Surplus?

I’m still willing to help get her moved and into some sort of restoration project.

The museum at Southampton is already full so where will the Swift go? I seem to remember plans for a combined air and sea museum at a new river front site being talked about any body out there connected with the Southampton Museum care to comment?

It would make sense wouldn’t it. It fits well into the Supermarine collection.

Swift

Was it the only Swift on display at RIAT?

The latest e-mail news from Southampton Hall of Aviation mentions that:

“As you are aware we are displaying aircraft at Fairford this year. Regretfully due to transportation problems we are unable to take the Sea-Venom, however we will have the Spitfire Replica, the Scimitar and the latest addition to our exhibits – the Supermarine Swift!!! – More of the Swift in the next Newsletter.”

Their news letter can be recieved by registering in the pop-up that comes up on going to the site at:

SHA

Is this a case of 2+2=4?
