Surplus equipment from Afghanistan especially aircraft

With all the surplus equipment that was/is being brought Back from Afghanistan is their much that is worth converting or bringing into front or second line service? My thinking is around the recent mystery submarines off Sweden and now in faslane. Is there ISAF aircraft that are unsure of a role or to be stepped and sold. Remember all the Intel/communications equipment as well brought back. You have the option to buy parts new that are required eg MAD boom etc. even fast river boats (if there were any do they have a use)? Strip and place all equipment in a costal vessel with some heavy guns, cheap sonar etc. thinking outside the box maybe several pieces of high tech equipment mated together modified etc etc

Some answers could get university to try there hands. The amount of equipment brought back is austonding.
