Hello All,
Having seen the current issue of Flypast, with the Hunter preserved on a stick in Harare, I wonder if anyone knows the fates of the 15 or so Hunters, and several Canberras that were offered for sale in either 2002 or 2003 ?
I think they were offered for sale by tender, and might have appeared in Flight
International. But cannot remember.
Cheers
Tim

Ah yes I remember this one. They put it up for tender in July 1990. I, and judging by the visitor book at Old Sarum, several others, spent a lot of time and effort flying down to Zim to inspect and place a bid on it.
They decided to remove it from the tender without so much as an apology for the inconvenience, time and money spent. 😡

Last I heard they couldn’t sell them because they were asking too much?
