Sweetest Spitfire… which model?

Which is reputed to be the purest and ‘sweetest’ Spitfire to fly of all the various marks? Is it the very first Mk1, Mk V, the two stage supercharged MkIX or the later Griffon-engined models?

Interested to know folk’s opinions on this.
