Swing-wing extinction?

Do you think there will ever be another new manned swing-wing/variable geometry (VG) combat aircraft?

Are VG aircraft simply too expensive to develop & deploy or is the technology no longer relevant in the 21st century?

Most VG aircraft are pretty “cool” & militarily effective with reasonable or good combat records (F-14, Tornado, B-1B etc). personally, I think would be a shame if we never saw another VG combat aircraft being developed ever again.
