Swiss A340

I know that SWISS does not have the A346 on order anymore, but does anybody think if the airlines starts to pick up again they may order the A346? Is it even a possibility?

Any comments would be great, thanks!

Then you could go into Swiss Express, Swiss Sun and the former Swiss Wings. Plus now the new airline called Air Switzerland.

Right, Swissair goes bankrupt, so their regional subsidary, Crossair gets bought out of Swissair by a consortium of Swiss banks. Swissair transfers their routes to Crossair, who also get hold of the SR fleet. Crossair rebrands as Swiss International Airlines (or just SWISS), and, it appears, is about to go bust themselves…

Someone’s making a major balls of it, and SARS and the Iraq war aren’t exactly helping encourage people to try out a ‘fledgling’ airline…

SWISS flights from BSL to London City, Hannover, and Milan will be suspended as of July 1st, until traffic starts to pick up again.

All these “Swiss” Air’s are going out of business, then starting up, then going out of business. This is starting to get confusing, who was who, and who is who now.

Well Swissair had 9 A340-600s on order. Swiss Int. now has the A340-300 on order I believe, which are due for delivery to replace the MD-11s. Much more expensive than the A340 to operate plus acquisition costs make quite good sense.
I suppose the A340-600 would be a possibility, after all Swissair did have some on order, however, it will not be in the immediate future I would think as Swiss would have no need for them based on their current plans, though I am probably not the best person to go into the Swiss situation.
