In my recent trip to Madrid, I took this pic. I have never enjoyed their boring new colours. They look like hospital planes. I hope you enjoy it.

RE: Swiss Pic
ok, just to update zou all, I returned yesterday, on HB-IUG, still in the Crossair colours (although, there are no plans to repaint any more MD80’s to the swiss colours (only two have been repainted)), as they’re due to be phased out next year, and replaced by A320’s, originally ordered by Crossair last year.
Anyway, it was far from a full load, so infinitely more enjoyable than the outward flight.
There was a meal served… and… COFFEE. Excellent, I was in heaven.
So… Swiss flights ex-Switzerland apear to be ok, (also from looking at the timetable, meals are scheduled on flights FROM, but not TO Switzerland), although hopefully they can get some decent catering services sorted out at foreign airports.
While the plane was externally still Crossair, the headrests now say Swiss, so branding is getting there, too.

I, for one, think the new livery is so much nicer than the old one.
Actually it is one of my favourite liveries is JAL’s and Cathay’s.

RE: Swiss Pic
well, coincidentally, my flight this evening was on board HB-ISZ, teh same plane keltic snapped in Madrid.
All I want to say just now is… no matter how nice the painting is outside, the inside was falling to pieces. It definately requires a new interior, although the cloths on teh headrests still said Crossair, so how much Swiss can be blamed for it, I don’t know…

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-07-02 AT 09:16 PM (GMT)]I think that is a very nice livery, sometimes a livery with so many things looks bad.

I’m flying Swiss from LHR to BSL tomorrow night, it should be an MD-83, so I’ll let you know if the service on board is any different to what it was on Crossair.

Thunderchief,
I think in this case you are definitely right, less is definitely more. The colours suit the aircraft. They are smart, professional and above all, instantly identifiable. What’s the problem with looking like an ambulance aircraft? Surely that would inspire confidence.

RE: Swiss Pic
Nice pic, cheers Keltic. However, I feel a livery change (or upgrade!) coming on once the airline begins to become profitable once again.

It’s always refreshing to see white and red colors on an A/C, nice picture, of a nice a/c, in very atractive colors!!

RE: Swiss Pic
Your right Keltic, all u need a is blue flashing lights!
At least that is one use for the planes if they fail!!!
Neeeeeenawwwwwwwwwwwww nnnnneeeeeeeeennaaaaaawwwwwwww
Does anyone make flashing blue lights for aircraft as the only one i have seen was in a Naked Gun movie i think wehre they used an american fighter jet and put one of them blue lights that uses a cigarette lighter!
