Syria???

Just heard on the radio that Syria was looking like a likley secon target country as it was “…heavily involved in the… funding of terrorist groups”.
I know Syria hasn’t got the most uptodate, organized, proffesional troops in the world but it is still a vastly different proposition to Afghanistan. What would be the possible military and political implicatins of this new move and what would be the chances of success? What would the targets be? What do the Syrians have to defend themselves with?
