Syria's Air Defences

This thread was just a matter of time, so let me start it.

Am I the only one surprised that Syria possesses SA-11, SA-22 Pantsir system, as well as S-300 mobile regiments? All those goodies shipped to them from Russia, but not to Iran? :-))) Very curious!

and secondly,

If true, is that all that it takes to delay NATO force’s involvement in stopping he bloodshed.
Sure, there are other reasons, such as Israel being too close physically to risk retaliation, and many others. But when it comes down to waiting for so long to do something that seems to be the next step anyway (looking at the NATO style recently) I can’t not think that NATO considers Syria to be more tough (or at least more complicated) of a threat than Lybia was, or Iran would be.
