Sywell Air Show preview day

I’m sure that Damien and co, will get around to posting some much higher-quality images than these, but hopefully these’ll whet your appetite for this weekend’s event.

Big congratulations to all the pilots who handled the gusty conditions yesterday, not least Dennis Neville who’s ‘tail up taxying’ with the Tiger Moth was a sight to behold!

…..And the Chipmunks are massing already for Saturday’s 60th Birthday party. The first arrival was Angel Ajelo – flying in from Madrid! 😎

Yep. Perfect photographic conditions, apart from the blustery wind.

Although the high wind curtailled some flying yesterday it didn’t affect this brilliant racing car display – provided by Patrick Morgan and his DT Engineering team. Over £1 million-worth. They’re on display on Sunday too!

I’ve got to admit that I think the ‘Wilga’ makes an interesting addition to an airshow line-up. There’s always something aluring about the ‘ugly duckling’.

Let’s hope itl blows through during Saturday in time for the Sywell show

Hopefully quicker than that or it will have a significant effect on the Chipmunk fly-in on Saturday.

Hope you enjoy the flight Albert.

Weather forecast (ever believe them?) now looking more promising with winds scheduled to abate over the weekend.

Current band of rain expected to move through on Friday, leaving a clearer day on Saturday, with a bit more cloud on Sunday.

Fingers firmly crossed please everybody……

Hmmm….wonder where Damien’s pictures are. Maybe he left the lens cap on….. :diablo:

Looking good! Biggest problem since then has been the deterioration in the weather. It’s raining non-stop at present here and we’re supposed to be on the edge of a Hurricane (no not that one!) with very strong winds coming up from the south. Thankfully, the winds haven’t arrived (or perhaps died before they reached UK) but it’s still not good! Let’s hope itl blows through during Saturday in time for the Sywell show. Hope so, as I shall be flying in!
