Sywell Aviation Museum Grand Opening Saturday 26th March 2016 & Radial Fly In
Easter Saturday is the traditional Grand Opening for the Sywell Aviation Museum’s new season and this year
the event returns bigger and better than ever before! Military vehicles, re-enactors, aircraft cockpits and some
surprise aerial visitors (maybe even a warbird or two) make it a fun day out!
Held at the Aerodrome at the same time will be the first of this year’s Radial and Trainer Fly Ins – who knows what might turn up!
The event starts at 1030hrs and runs until 1630hrs. Parking is extremely limited so please arrive early and car share!
Following the Grand Opening the Museum will be open as usual every weekend and bank holiday from 1030-1630hrs until
the end of September. In July, August and September, the Museum opens on Wednesday afternoons between 1330-1630hrs.
Entry is free – donations welcome – parking is also free but limited! We are taking bookings for out of hours group tours.

Have to second that, that when the museums close there doors for the winter months, the work begins for majority of museums to maintain and improve the facilities and displays. Hawkinge (The Kent Battle of Britain museum) is one of those if you visit there facebook page they provide you with all the goings on and the improvements throughout the winter months.
Also i would like to second what a Fantastic museum at the Sywell airfield i try to get there at least twice a year, looking forward to March.

Ben
Always impressed when I visit your superb museum. I was at Sywell last weekend for a VAC gathering, not realising your museum was yet to reopen I wandered over. There I found someone who explained politely I would have to return in March – but on that wet and cold day I noticed work was apace repainting the floor. It is at times like that when you are reminded of the year-round effort put in at museums and collections that enable us all to enjoy them in the open season. Well done guys!
