“Beacons of Remembrance” – Battlefields of The Great War – Gordon Hall

Battlefield Historian & Guide Gordon Hall presents an illustrated talk on the scenes of some of the major actions of The First World War in its Centenary Year.

“Ben Gunn – A Test Pilots Story” – David Gunn
David Gunn hosts an Alexander “Ben” Gunn MBE MRAes, after operations on Spitfires and Tempests he trained as a test pilot at A&AEE Farnborough before becoming chief test pilot for Boulton-Paul 1949-1966. This highly entertaining talk is presented by his son David.

“The Post War Race for German Aviation Technology” – Eric Brown

A talk by aviation legend Captain Eric Brown CBD DSC AFC (RN) former RN Officer who has flown more types of aircraft than anyone else in history, piloting 487 different aircraft types. He is also the The Fleet Air Arm’s most decorated pilot and holds the record for the number of aircraft carrier landings – 2,407.

Grand Opening, 2014 Sywell Aviation Museum

Memorial Service to rededicate the Aerodrome Memorial and Heidi’s 60th Birthday Party (Hawker Hunter WN904 built 1954!). Military vehicles, re-enactors, model display, including a warbird flypast (details TBC) – entry free, donations welcome.
