Today’s charity airshow in aid of the Air Ambulance was a great success, and enjoyed beautiful autumn sunshine, albeit with a stiff breeze. The event had a laid-back family airshow feel, though the line-up had plenty of variety, and the flightline was dominated by the RastaCat PBY.
The only jet to appear was a Vampire T11, unless you count the Jet-powered hang-gliders, which were just weird! Great fun, though. The Twin Pin put on a very good show, as did the Mustang and the Mew Gull, and the Utt Butt’s are in their element on a small grass field like Sywell.
With no traffic problems, no crowding and a modest £10 ( for charity) admission, this was a great little event that reminded you that airshows do not have to be a battle of endurance.

Janie
Propstrike I ws genuinely impressed by your photos considering things such as shutter lag that you were battling. If you do go SLR I think you’ll find things a lot easier. Do not get depressed.
Yak 11 re. the Mustang – confession time – I really blew that one as in my excitement I managed to dial in 1/60 sec. shutter speed which was too slow. However there were some before the mishap which included ..

I have to disagree, please post all the Mustang pictures you can, it’s a wonderful piece of kit….

Colin, No worries, I barely noticed. But please stop posting photos like the Mustang; You are putting me to shame, and making me depressed !
I know you were only ‘dropping in’ , but there is a keen audience here for great photos. What about your back-catelogue?

Apologies to Propstrike
.. for calling you propshaft (see earlier post).
I finally sorted through the stuff and my personal favorite from the day is shown below – it may be influenced by the fact that I enjoyed that particular display.
p.s. I didn’t realise how big people post piccies these days so have upped my size a bit.

Really enjoyed your great photos. That closeup of G-ANDE is going into my logbook as soon as I have cropped it to fit.
Many thanks indeed.

Thanks Colin. Will you chuck up a few more? That lens of yours really does the business. So I was not the only one hanging around behind the Cat!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. It looks like a good day. It’s always good to see them on the grass at a smaller venue. I particularly like the Twin Pin picture.
Thanks again.
