[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-10-02 AT 03:39 PM (GMT)]Can anyone suggest what modern tactics could neutralize a saturation “attack” by anti-radar drones with long loiter time ?
I was thinking of electronic decoys ( scatterd in the hundreds or thousands ) or submunitions that could be fired at an area to deflect the drone by fooling it with decoy microwave emmisions .
As these drones may have the effect of effectively switching off the defender’s radars( or destroying them if they are stealthy enough ) I think this is important in the emerging battlefield .
My instincts suggest that the optimum time of use for such drones (from the attackers point of view ) would be night — as it would minimize interception by Elop in the event of a stealthy composition.
Already the PLA has a rather large number pointed at Tawan .
Any suggestions ( other than electronic jammng or shooting them down ) ?
