Tactics to attack a carrier battle group (non-US)

Assume that a non-US country operating carriers- like UK, France or India entered hostilities with another country and sent their carriers into action- how could the opposing force attack and sink the carriers via air action. All these nations do not have the same level of AAW protection that US CVBGs have, and their carrier borne fighters (till the Rafale M) is a match for top of the line land based fighters. I believe their carriers would be easy pickings for any modern air force and are white elephants.
