Taiwan Invasion

Hello all!
I recon that many thread (possibly too much) threads are about China. I hope you excuse me not to go through the 1 billion posts. As people obviously like to speculate about China I may even do favor to the interested people.

My discussion topic:
Chinese Invasion of Taiwan

Which forces are necessary to be succesful?
How can Taiwan defend itself? (considering the tight limitations in arms procurement)
Which role would go to airpower?

I think an invasion of Taiwan is from the pure military point of view impossible, even if the US would not directly support Taiwan.

P.S.: If Chinese really want to do that, if they are right/wrong/Commie/Imperialistic is not the topic here. So please keep it out.
