Taiwanese media have revealed a powered standoff munitions dispenser for FCK1 – the Wan-chien.

The weapon program itself was known since 1999, which was a reaction to 1995/1996 missile crisis in Taiwan Strait and ROCAF had nothing that can do standoff attack back then. So, AIDC and CSIST got together and worked on this.

This is also the hedge bet Taiwan is placing on this weapon program, and might force US to release other standoff weapons of similiar kind, for use on F-16 fleet……
