I thought you might enjoy some photos of this morning’s second post-restoration flight of Hawker Fury K5674 from Goodwood.

Enjoying the sunshine at Goodwood

Sir Fred Rosier’s son David in front of his father’s aeroplane.

The ‘office’.

David Rosier hands his father’s log book to Charlie Brown to be carried on the flight. (A nice touch this!)

Getting ready to start.

Strapping in.

Final checks.

Ready to go.

Airborne!
I’ve also got a reasonable video of the engine start which I’ll try and upload to YouTube and post a link here. I did also video the take-off but with rather disappointing results so I probably won’t put that up.
Pete
Oh, and to pre-empt any comments about “rubber-necking camera enthusiasts”, I was there by invitation. 🙂

I am not over familiar with the replica is she a scale one?
So sorry, SADSACK – I’m the sad sack here. Missed your post.
Scale, yes. Housed up the hill, here – at least until it was closed to GA
There was also a scale FW190 – oh, would love to own one!!
A lucky shot, the Fury – it was the other side of the village – couldn’t see it in the display to focus.
Shame it is only a single-seater – but I was treated to a flight in lieu!

I was thinking the same thing as I watched the Hind and the Demon flying together this evening….
Keep ’em crossed!
I suspect that politics would preclude it ever happening at Old Warden. Maybe some day at Duxford, though.

It would be nice if the various Hawker biplanes could have a get together at Shuttleworth as a one off to support the colllection.

I may be wrong but from memory I believe the Isaacs Fury is around 3/4 scale. It is a homebuilt and I assume plans are still available.
The full size Fury looks stunning. With this and the new arrivals at Old Warden we have a fantastic end to the season in prospect for biplane enthusiasts.
