The NMUSAF is advertising its Ju 52/3M (actually a CASA 352L) for trade.
“The aircraft is without maintenance records and data plate is missing”.
The plane has been on outdoor display since 1971, a gift of the Spanish government.
Wonder if it would be restorable to airworthy?
Also seen in the latest Trade-A-Plane:
Spitfire Mk XVIII being offered by the Aircraft Restoration Coimpany: 1.3 milllion pounds.
P-47 “Hairless Joe” for sale at $2.2 million
TF-51D $2.7 million. (I’ve never seen a higher asking price for a Mustang..then again, I haven’t been shopping).
Mitsubishi Zero “The Blayd Zero” is up for sale by a New Zealand conern. POA.
Commonwealth Boomerang offered by Courtesy for $439,000 USD

Perhaps the Spanish Air Force should just take their unwanted gift back. 😉
As unexpected as the Spanish………:dev2:

Hmmmm…trust the USAF with any aircraft transaction? I think not!!! The USAF is currently trying to take back a twin Mustang that they had “Donated and transferred title to” the CAF. They have requested it back and would like CAF to foot the bill as well! Here is a link to the legal mess.

Opens a huge can of worms. It seems the USAF has changed their “procedure” so just beware…they can change their mind at any time and take back what was once theirs!!!
The case is pending.

There’s a catch. They removed the data plate and you don’t get a bill of sale. Which means you can’t register it with the FAA so you can’t fly it! The one who buys it is stuck with a big lump of worthless aluminium as you can’t prove you own it!
Seems their practice to make sure their planes are kept on the ground. Wouldn’t surprise me if they cut the wingspars too!
oh, and the Boomerang is a T-6 based replica.

Just as well Xmas is approaching….
The JU 52 is most likely restorable (they all are), but I guess you mean if its economically viable, which I wouldn’t think it is.
The again, she might just get a buyer who don’t give a hoot and simply spend what it takes.
