KLM UK
It has been announced that KLM will upgrade to a jet aircraft from October on its three daily flights from Teesside to Amsterdam. This in effect doubles the capacity. Current flights are ran on Fokker 50 aircraft and will presumably be replaced by a Fokker 100.
Eurocypria
For the summer of 2003, there will be a weekly flight to Paphos with (according to latest brochures) Eurcypria, presumably using their A320 aircraft. This means both Larnaca and Paphos will be served by Teesside next year, the Larnaca flight continuing to be operated by the MYT based aircraft.
Turkey
A new flight to Dalaman on a Monday is also being introduced for the Summer season in 2003.
Ryanair
Ryanair are now operating an extra flight to Dublin three days a week.
This isn’t exactly major expansion, but its good news for us Teessiders.

RE: Teesside News Update
Good news for MME.
On a similar note, NCL-AMS goes up to 7 x Daily F100.
This gives NCL more flights to AMS than to LHR…

RE: Teesside News Update
I didn’t think the F50’s were that old. How old are they? What is there usual life-span?

RE: Teesside News Update
the Fokker 50’s have been talked about been disposed oif for some time and now that KLM Citihopper and UK had analgamated it may be an overcapacity, or old age as these are some of the oldest F50’s around – KLM Citihopper also fly F50,70 and 100 whereas UK fly F50 and F100

RE: Teesside News Update
Do you know what the F50’s are being replaced with?
Also, why are they being retired – old age?

RE: Teesside News Update
Just a note for the spotters – it could well be a Cityhopper F70 a/c as Leeds is getting extra F70 flights to suppliment the 3x daily F100 runs – i think the UK F100’s are at near full utilisation now the F50s are been retired.
