Anybody been to either Tenerife airports reciently? Looking to go in February and staying in a apartment on the golf course on the end of the runway at the south airport. Had a look tonight at the arrivals and Saturday is wall to wall german charters 🙂 , just what I need. Plus that fact that in the uk it will be -2oC and in Tenerife 22oC! Looking to fly Monarch from Luton.

Years ago I stayed in Las Galletas (literally “the biscuits” in Spanish), which was good for shots of the aircraft heading out to sea. It’s not too far from the airport and easily accessible (map attached), although Los Abrigos (“the coats” or “the anoraks” 😉 in Spanish) seems much better.

The week I was there all arrivals were over the golf course you talk about, in fact another place to watch is just to the north of Los Abrigos, there is a dirt track which is just to the rear of the school in Los Abrigos which turns into a paved road which goes around the perimeter, had no problems taking pics from there, in fact I’ll look them out and post some of them 🙂
The Thomas Cook A320 was taken from near the school in Los Abrigos the other 2 were taken from the dirt track.

Those photos are great, nice to see that the golf course is really on the end of the runway. Not many night flights thankfully!
Thanks moondance, thats very good news about the runways. Must stop looking at the arrivals boards on the net, makes me want to go now!
Cheers for your help guys.

Thanks for the info, I will be staying at the bottom left end of that map on the golf course on the end of the runway 🙂 . Anybody know which way they normall land? Will have a car anyway.
Just booked the flights ZB56 27/2 LTN-TFS, and return 6/3 on ZB57, A321 operated I think. Roll on Feb and get away from this awfull british weather!

Sorry going with somebody who furfills my needs when the
spotting finishes!! 🙂 Just need to try and get her to understand why I won’t be by the pool all day. I may be nice to her and take a day or two off spotting, will be bored of German charters after a few days anyway! 😉
