Teofil Szymankiewicz

Hi all

Just found this site and noticed some info on the Polish pilot i mensioned in this topic.

I would be very greatful for any info/pics on Teofil Szymankiewicz as my gran was engaged to him during the war,they met when he was stationed in wales.
The main grey area though is about his death as it would seem that the Mustang 3 he died in (engine fire on landing) was not his plane but that of the squadron leader.

Hi Marc

I use to live across the road from your gran and met your “Dad !!!” at an airshow called Old Hay a couple of years ago.

That would be my uncle,he sent some pics of a spit from 315 squadron that was at the air show where you met him,315 squadron was Teofil’s first posting before the battle of britain.

Were you or are you still in the RAF?
