Terminal Velocity

Anyone see this last night on BBC1? Not a bad movie I thought, plenty of historic aviation content – Lockheed Neptune, Sikorsky S58, Beech 18 (Skydiving out of a Beech 18, hmmmm got a proposition for you TT 😉 ), and near the end an entire aviation museum! Anyone know which museum it was? Spotted a P40, B17, Dakota, and other historical types

..and no we’re not going to re-enact it in Leicestershire! 😮

Are you sure? There’s that ‘Bubbles n Babes’ topless car wash near me, i’m sure they’d be willing! (Actually, got a good idea for an XH558 money raising photo shoot 😀 )

The mattress story reminds me of my B17 transition training in Sebring,FL in 1942. In the landing pattern, on the downwind leg, I had to power off the throttles and touchdown in a 10 foot circle.

But I bet you paid more attention to your checklist….. 😉

Film is pretty rubbish Rob, but yes is well known for decent Beech Porn….albeit in the early stages – Con Air is better!

Somewhere at Beech 18.net there is a story of a Beech 18 used by a house of ill repute for skydiving, the parachutist who got closest to a mattress in the desert, was enteretained FOC for the night with a select group of ‘ladies’…

Can you tell me where this is posted please?

The film during the end part was filmed at the old Evergreen Aviation Museum at Marana, Arizona….lots of Del Smith’s collection visible in the hangar….and the stunt pilot for the sequences at the end with the Waco and the C-123 was none other than Jimmy Franklin (RIP)…actually I thought it was a decnt flick with lotsa good flying in it…
