Unfortunately the US media created a drama out of the riots in 2011. Indeed many of my U.S friends believed that virtually the whole country was in flames and that it was because of some sort of social depravation. When it was pointed out that the people stealing the goods from shops were very unlikely to rank amongst the poor of society -but represented a broad swave of opportunists that took advantage of the lawlessness their attitudes changed somewhat. It was not a case of black Vs white or religion Vs religion – it was the young playing anarchy and lining their pockets from stolen goods.

This was waiting to happen . Take a look at the number of dark skinned immigrants in the UK . These people who come from India , Iran , Syria and African countries have a history of committing violence in the UK . Let’s not forget the anarchy they had created across the UK in August 2011 .

Unless these people are deported diabolical crimes like these will continue to occur .

Do you reailse what you are saying?

You are in CA, WTF do you know about the UK?

‘dark skinned immigrants’ That speaks volumes. Are you a member of the K K K by any chance?

At least call them Black or Asian, Musilm, etc.

You are a complete and utter idiot.

Where are we going to deport them to?

The vile men are who did this are British. Hmm lets deport them to ……….errrm not sure.

Personal abuse is not acceptable – Mods

I am not quite sure why the U.K would wish to support reconnaisance operations during the 1972 war. It was not in our national interest – the U.S support for the war was to prop up Israel . For what reason would we wish to support Israel ? Maybe you have forgotten about the support given to the U.S for the bombing missions against Gaddafi in 1986 flown from U.K bases by F-111’s .

As for Argo -I would suggest that in making an exciting film Mr Affleck deviated somewhat from the truth and it makes it a more exciting story to say that ‘nobody’
wanted to help the Americans -the truth is somewhat different! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/9622647/Ben-Afflecks-new-film-Argo-upsets-British-diplomats-who-helped-Americans-in-Iran.html

It probably wants to be but we have had and still have leaders with no experience of “the world”. So they are pulled and pushed between the desires and aspirations of senior civil servants.

I was merely supporting Andy’s point that our involvement in middle east adventures courtesy of the little-missed ‘Tony’ Blair has indeed not kept our streets safer, it is only the efforts of the security bods that does that. Moggy

Say the UK never got involved in “middle east adventures”…and basically tried to stay isolationist (shades of America before WWII) what makes you think that people as savage as these seem to be wouldn’t eventually come for the UK for another reason…letting women drive, legal abortions, supporting the C of E, supporting that they would deem “offensive” TV programs, films and music, or whatever?
In other words, unless the UK adopts Islamic law and everyone converts…I’m guessing that the extremists would find some reason to kill Brits.
I don’t think hiding behind the English Channel would last to long.

In the past, the UK tried to stay out of mid-east affairs by denying USAF SR-71s to operate from Mildenhall during the 1972 war…and something I just found out, it allegedly refused refuge to some US diplomats who escaped the American embassy takeover in Iran in 1979 (they eventually were sheltered at the Canadian embassy). On the latter point, there seems to be some controversy… UK diplomats seem to deny this happened and the UK media like the Daily Mail seem to see it as another “Yank film bashing the Brits”…but the other day I heard a ex-diplomat on the radio say they really were turned away…he was there…and it’s not a film error. I guess he should know.

The UK is either a major player on the world stage or it isn’t.

Sorry if that sounds a bit Daily Mailish, but the fact of the matter is that unless a grip is got on this problem it just feeds and gives succour to the equally unspeakable BNP and EDL etc.

Speaking of the EDL, there appears to have been a spot of confusion….

What angers me is ITV and then the rest of the press releasing the video footage of these nutters!

That is exactly what crazed Islamic extremists want! There will now be thousands of copies of the videos with suitable heroic music added of those guys being used as a victory message and recruitment tool!

The press yet again putting their own needs ahead of the national interest!

In some ways I agree.

But the murder in itself will be used as a recruitment tool, what the video has shown is that these zealots are completly crazy to normal thinking people.
I think these ‘men’ have scored an own goal with the EDF and other the white zealots milking it for all it’s worth. All they have achived is a greater division between Muslims and non Muslims. I can’t belive some of the posts on Facebook pure hatred towards not only Muslims but anyone who isn’t white British.

I hope some good will come from the vile murder of Drummer Lee Rigdy.
Non-extreme Imams and Muslims should stand up and report their so called extreme ‘brothers’, they know who they are and they should have the guts to report them and maybe put an end to this crazieness. Until this happens hatred will continue. A niave view I know.

On the face of it, no we can’t.

The question is whether or not this is truly representative of how a great many Muslims living in the UK actually think, or if they secretly (and sometimes openly) feel otherwise. Or is it more about a panic reaction to protect themselves against a backlash and a need to be seen “saying the right thing”.

Pardon my cynicism. I am not being specifically anti-Muslim here (in fact, I abhor all ‘organised religion’) but I think the Muslim Council of Britain needs to take highly visible actions to their words and be seen to ex-communicate extremists, to put a lid on the spread of Sharia law, put a stop to the Muslim enclaves that are ‘no go’ areas to us Infidels and ensure any ‘clerics of hate’ are removed from mosques forthwith. Anything less is way beyond the extreme end of unacceptable.

Sorry if that sounds a bit Daily Mailish, but the fact of the matter is that unless a grip is got on this problem it just feeds and gives succour to the equally unspeakable BNP and EDL etc.

It would seem that we should not confuse this http://www.isb.org.uk/ with this http://www.mcb.org.uk/

Two different organisations with a degree of common cause. This from the ISB http://www.isb.org.uk/sharia/ and this from the MCB http://www.mcb.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2315:mcbnewstemplate&catid=82:mcb-news so the ICB would seem to take a more moderate view.

And now we know

Drummer Lee Rigby of the 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

The soldier, from Greater Manchester, had served in Afghanistan.

Known as “Riggers” to his friends, he was selected to be a member of the Corps of Drums and was posted to the Second Fusiliers Regiment.

His first posting was as a machine gunner in Cyprus. In 2008 he returned to the UK to Hounslow, West London, where he guarded the Royal Palaces.

In April 2009 he was deployed for the first time to Helmand province, Afghanistan, where he served as a member of the Fire Support Group in Patrol Base Woqab.

On return to the UK he completed a tour of duty in Germany before taking up a recruiting post in London in 2011, where he also assisted with duties at Regimental Headquarters in the Tower of London..

RIP

I bloody well hope not, it was dire…. hell, we didn’t have anything for most of the time, they then months laterwe were issued pick axe handles…. years later on then when they blew up some Army barracks we went and collected our Muskets, a bit later on in the day they decided we’d actually be live armed and issued with Ammo…. that was then changed as fast as it came out, and several hours later on that day we handed our Muskets back in…

..that brought back memories…..
