Hope for the future Ansett Mk2 has been boosted by the announcement yesterday of a deal struck up between Ansett’s new owners Tesna and Airbus in which Airbus has argeed to lease 30 new A320’s to the company! The first is to arrive next month with all to be in service by the end of the year, this raises questions over the Boeing a/c used by Ansett, as to weather they will be kept or returned?
More details to follow!

RE: Tesna/ Airbus deal!
I wish they would bring back either Impules or Compass, but then again I found some info the other day for my little venture that is helpfull since the demise of Impulse!
I know it’s going to be tough, but like I said, no one offers what I want to offer, so basiclly there is no competition!

RE: Tesna/ Airbus deal!
Its coming, its been slow, but ANSETT should be up and running again soon enough, and god do we need it! They are also looking at re-introducing the Frequent Flyer programme, but a far more generous one this time.
Regards, Glenn.

RE: Tesna/ Airbus deal!
Adding to the news of the New Ansett Mk2, FAC has agreed to the Tesna consortium’s request for use of their hanger spaces and terminals at all airports controlled by them!
This now paves the ways for the sale of Ansett to the Tesna consortium with the sale to be completed buy the end of the month!

RE: Tesna/ Airbus deal!
The Airline!
Some doubt about the Airline is already at hand, with the two new owners: Solomon Lew and Lindsay Fox arriving back in Australia Today after being in talks with Richard Branson, owner of Virgin Blue in England!
Speculation has it that the talks were over a merger deal combining the failing airline, who’s administrators lost a court battle today holding them responcible for further losses (current losses are estimated at around A$6M per day).
Though the two would not comment, they appeared to be happy with the talks! If a merger does happen, further joblosses are expected and that is not good news concidering Tesna announced last week that 1000 jobs could not be maintained if the deal is to go ahead, citing mounting costs in keeping the airline active!
