Does anyone know if there are plans for the TFC P-39 to go onto the UK register? It’s been here a while now and it’s still got a N reg.
Thanks

the Gladiator made it’s debut at Legends 2008 and flew after the event also and before anyone jumps on thier high horses yes it was only a test flight on the Sunday but it still had it’s debut in 2008
A public debuts and display debuts are different things however, of which the latter has not yet happened.
Cheers, Huw:)

I’ve just read the Living Legends article in this months AI mag. I noticed that in there it mentions how unique an opportunity it is for airshow organisers to have The Hawk 75, P-40B, the 3 Gruman Cats and a Corsair avaliable leading me to believe they are staying, but it doesn’t mention the state of the Gladiator, P-39 or Nimrod. It also talked about the Beaufighter with no indication of it being sold.
What does everyone else make of this?
In another section of the article it mentions the fac that Twilight Tear is due back for legends and another P-51 will be flying over from the US to fly alongside Miss Velma with the Horsemen, which is good news, even if it has sort of been known for a while.
A major surprise aircraft is also planned too…:p
Cheers, Huw:)

don’t forget the merlin engined p40, that can’t be too far away now as well.
It’s about as far as you can get (in distance) and it’ll be a while yet, although I’ve not checked up on it lately.
Sadsack – TFC has an anonymous P40F under rebuild at Precision Aerospace at Wangaratta Victoria, Australia. (They did the wings now back and on the P-47.)

Exciting times indeed.
That sea fury is due on its way soon as according to WIX its to be containerised fairly soon.
P40? Fill me in.
Is the P47 anywhere near ready?

When TFC’s P-63 King Cobra “Trussst me” was destroyed in a fatal accident at Biggin Hill a few years ago, I was delighted when TFC bought P-39 “Brooklyn Bum” to replace her. I really expected to see this in the UK for a few more years yet, but do understand they like to rotate the collection and bring us something new. The CR-42 will be fantastic to see flying.

Legends wish
Hope that the P-39 will be here for Legends.
I’am sure I’am not the only one wishing this.

It has been a pleasure to see this aircraft in the UK and as with so many other types if it was not for Mr Grey and the Fighter collection it would be a type I would not have seen fly.
The P-39 and P-63 have always intrested me as they are like no other Warbird in the design, The Tricycle undercarriage , mid-engine and those funky car type doors do make it a bit different I think.
I look forward to seeing the Seafury, P-47 and CR42 as well as any suprises they may have soon.
