does anybody know where this is being rebuilt? from what i gather by reading flypast a few months ago its nearing the finish line so to speak, but can anyone confirm this?
Also, looks like the new fighter collection web monkey has been busy again (excuse the term) :dev2: . they have posted another update about the gladiator. they have just completed a dummy fit of the top wing and everything seems to be ok. what the chances of her gracing the skies again this summer. well done to all at TFC and lets hope all goes well in the rest of the restoration!

off we go again…..the thread starts to get going and someone has to mention legends. would be nice to see her on the AIRSHOW circuit as from what i gather it will be the first of its kind in the world. As for the yak3 , there was a small article in flypast some months ago that it went to chino, but it didn’t say it had been sold, although if i was to assume it has been (wasn’t it a converted yak 9 from the egyptian air force?)

What a helpful informative post.I have learnt that the CR.42 will now have four wings.
The finished ones built in italy and in store at TFC and a new second set that have been restored in America.This will look very interesting.
Just out of interest who rebuilt the upper two wings in the USA?
Or was it the lower two?
Or the top one and second one up?

you should both know by now that we’re talking here about the slightly less well known SEAT Cr.42.
A rare Spanish Quadriplane.
The wings were rebuilt in Mexico by Don Juan San Miguel el Codobes, that famous quadriplane restorer from down south of the border.
Now we’ve resolved that little issue you can both return to a more peaceful place and take the p*ssout of M*gdrop.
If this famous quadriplane is available for Legends this year I might haul my *rse out of bed and drive the 45 minutes to Duxford to witness the event, then again I probably won’t bother.

The wings were restored in America and in storage at Duxford. The fuselage is being rebuilt in Italy and is due to arrive in duxford soon, where the building of the fuel pumps,fuel tanks, etc plus final assembly and finishing will take place at Duxford, which will take more than a year.

yeah thats 4 new aircraft for this year 🙂 does anyone know what happened to their Yak 3?
i think we might be in for a treat this year, with alot of interesting types comming to the end of their restorations “yak 1, tempest 2….”
