It mentions in Aeroplane Monthly July 2003 about TFC aqquiring the above P38 Lightning from a Washington USA based collector, why did the aircraft never come across the pond to its new owners ? also, does anyone know how the restoration of the above Spit is coming along ?

I think the P-38 was part of a trade and never destined for the UK, as Mr Grey cannt fly twins anymore and so they are only going for single engine types……and yes I know about they have Beufighter but thats why it was put up for sale.

I guess it never came across because the owner decided not to. I saw it at Chino in March 2004 shortly before it was sold on to its present owner.
