I see in the WIX forum today there is some new speculation that the ‘ghost’ 😀 TFC P-38 won’t be coming across the pond and may in fact already be up for sale……

Don’t you just love idle speculation……:D 😀

One would of thought so mark v but with his wealth he could afford a few more,i dont know his plans long term but if he finds these war-vet wrecks and gets them flying thats fine by me i have seen photos of png P38s there is a lot of work just on the wings and centre section.

Good luck to him as for the flying example =yes

I think the only P-38 pictures on that page are of TFC’s P-38L. It’s the one with the red spinners and doesn’t have any paint. The pics are labeled P-38L. I would just hotlink them but the guy says not to use them without permission. This is the former David Tallichet machine.

Lovely pictures on that site as usual – saves a lot of air fare money too. P-38 is very nice indeed and it would be very wonderful to have it over here. I suppose we will just have to ‘wait & see’ what happens next Spring/early Summer as it could not be flown across until then anyway beacause of the weather.

Nice shots on that link John. Which one’s the alleged prospective TFC bird, the J or the L? Any sign of a Mosquito kit anywhere near it? One’s gone walkies from Duxford and my mate’s neighbour’s dentist reckons it’s been swapped for a P38… 😉

The P-38 is still at Chino….I heard it is awaiting TFC’s decision as to what to do with it. They are not working on it as yet. Click on this link and you will see several images of it taken last Saturday.

Well it had enough substance to be reported by at least two aviation publications !

If it’s a wind up, a lot of people have fallen for it !!

It wasn’t at Duxford today, so I guess it’s not here yet. Another one of those it doesn’t exist until it in the hanger type stories, could it be that someone got their wires crossed at some point?

Whenever I have asked anyone over there I have been met with disbeliving faces so I guess if they don’t know then we should just leave it. Good wind up though by whoever started it.
