TFC's Twilight Tear to attend Mustangs & Legends

According to the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends ‘Final Roundup’ website, it looks as though TFC’s P-51D ‘Twilight Tear’ will be joining it’s former stablemate ‘Princess Elizabeth’ at the historic Rickenbacker Airport in September 2007.

Will she be there to stay, or just attending this very special event?
With their new TF-51 ‘Miss Velma’ flying over in the next week or so as part of ‘Operation Bolero II’, will this years Flying Legends be the last time for us Europeans to see the duxford painted pony?

Any thoughts or information?

I don’t think it is anything to panic about. It’s probably only visiting. After all don’t we get warbirds coming to the UK from America on visits.

You are absolutely right of course. I guess with Princess Liz, No Guts and now the Tigercat gone I just got a bit emotional! 😀 😀 😀

It is of course entirely up to the owner of the aircraft to do as he/she pleases with it, and crikey, if it were not for people like Mr Stephen Grey we wouldn’t have the thriving warbird scene we have now.

Incidentally it will be nice to see Twilight Tear in formation with TFC’s new stang Miss Velma at this year’s legends. From the pictures i’ve seen on airshowbuzz.com, she’s a real beauty!

I’d like to see it remain at Duxford as there’s something “special” about knowing it’s flying from the same airfield it did originally.

Are there any other warbirds that do this or is it unique?
