Thai airline to recruit " third sex " flight attendants

According to this article in the Telegraph,a newly formed Thai airline, PC Air ( how appropriate is that title 🙂 ) is set to recruit transsexual flight attendants.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/8288327/Newly-formed-Thai-airline-recruits-Ladyboys-as-air-hostesses.html

I can see a rich vein of humour here, but on a serious note,is this news because there are no transsexual flight attendants already ?

Any comments about possible advantages or drawbacks ?

What about the pilots?

Will they be “third sex” too?

Blimey.

The gender or sexuality of the people who serve my meals on aircraft are of no concern to me whatsoever – and the latter is none of my business.
Nothing more than excellent service and food will do nicely.

If I were flying with PC Air,I’d spend all my time guessing which flight attendants really were female, and probably getting it wrong.

Just don’t try and find out!

My daughter’s friend is a 35 year-old male to female transsexual.

As he’s had ” the op “,then I suppose technically he’s a woman, though to me he still looks like a bloke in a frock. He’s been re-born as a female, which is fair enough.

It’s the bit about some of them not having the full sex change, but just living and dressing as women that intrigues me.

First reaction – is it 1st April? Seriously though, why? I suppose the proof will be in the pudding – how will PC Air’s passengers react? Perhaps PC Air specialises in transexual flight……..the mind boggles!
