Flew Thai back from Bangkok yesterday, and for the first time in my experience it was operated by an A340-600 (HS-TNE) instead of a 747-400. Does anyone know if this is planned to be the usual type from now on? Cheers.

Thanks Michael. Thai is a great airline in so many ways, but that antiquated IFE system on the 747’s badly lets them down.

Unfortunately not.
Having checked the timetable, Thai is using the A340-600 on flights 910/911 until the end of March and then the 747-400s will return. Flights 916/917 will continue to be operated by the 747-400.
