Thames Forts (Waverley update)

Just to let people know that apart from the Waverley trip sailing round the Army Forts in the Thames Estuary (Red Sands & Shivering Sands) there is now a trip from Southend to Clacton that takes in Roughs Tower.

Please note the return trip to Southend is by coach

But they were Anti-Aircraft defence positions, which is why it was put in the Historic Aircraft secction.

As interesting as the Thames forts are, this does not concern Historic Aircraft, and is therefore heading for GD.

I was on her today as well

Just a shame the weather did not play ball,

Got on at The Pier, was listening to the chatter on the shipping radio sure I heard that out at the forts a gusting wind of force 8 had been recorded!

was a bit windy was’nt it mate!

Still an intresting trip though.

Weny on the Waverley yesterday from Tower Hill to Southend. Im not a boat lover and hate the idea of going on boats (strange really seeing as I’m from Southend and rest of family nautically minded!) but my boss has been doing the trip for past 6 years and invited me along. What a fantastic day I had!I’ve seen London a whole new way! I would suggest this trip to anyone! Brilliant!
