Well, my birthday is in January, so I suppose we could use that as an excuse.

I’m always in the drink up in Norfolk, so I’m game……….
By: Auster Fan - 2nd December 2004 at 12:28
I’ll be in Norfolk over Christmas so I *might* be available for a social drink. Things are still a little vague…
Ditto Moggy’s comments. Let us know when you’re in God’s own county (NORFOLK before anyone suggests otherwise!) and we’ll try and arrange a venue. Woodforde’s brewery as a starting point?

I’m always up for a drink.
It’s afterwards that things get a little vague with me.

Ran away…..

Bah Humbug. I’ve been here 6 months now.
My New Year’s Resolution is to meet more Forum people (although if things go to plan that may be easier than I ever envisiged!). Still annoyed that I missed Steve Young and Texantomcat at Bruntingthorpe last September.

Maybe Key Publishing should produce titles such as “Trisha Monthly” or “Practical Jerry Springer”. That should cover the GD content :diablo:

Someone mention Cubs…? 😉
Stick with it AF, I’m sure all the silly stuff will pass. It’s winter, there’s no airshows here, and we’re all going a bit bonkers.
Now. Did someone mention Cubs…?
By: JDK - 2nd December 2004 at 10:58
We need an Auster fan about here, or it’ll become Cubland (shudup Steve Y 😀 ) keep it coming, and I enjoy your contribution for one…

Some of you may have seen my “Disillusioned” Thread on the GD Forum recently, but I would now like to be somewhat more upbeat and positive! As I approach my first anniversary of joining the forum (why I didn’t do it before, I haven’t a clue!), I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the enjoyment I have had in the last 12 months, through what has been a difficult year for me personally, in common with some other contributors. In particular, I would like to thank those members that I have had the pleasure to meet – thank you for making a complete stranger very welcome – I would like to hope that these may be the beginning of some good friendships. To those who I may have unwittingly annoyed or upset, I apologise; that was never my intention.
Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year and I look forward to seeing you in 2005.
I’d be very surprised with your measured and thoughtful posting you’d have annoyed anyone.
It’s always good to see you around at airshows, gatherings etc.
I know you’ve had a few up’s and downs this year.
Stay with it mate (and stay here).
Cheers
Andy

DAF.
Welcome aboard.
I heard this on the news but was not sure who or what would be flying. I have not seen any footage on the TV or had a look in the papers.
I think any flypast over London remembering the loss of life due to war is a very moving experience. Long may it carry on.
All those people who say that we should stop remembering the first and second world wars after all these years and only remember the recent wars with loss of life should think again. I am truly thankful & will always remember. Rest in peace and, thank you.
BP.

Thanks Futurshox – eagerly awaiting more of these pics. Glad the air2air trip went well for you, despite the bumpy air.
We’ll publish the list of fly-in ‘award’ winners on here early next week.

It certainly was a fantastic 24 hours, that’s for sure! The 2.5 hour drive was well worth it. Camping under a wing is wonderful, the party was quite an experience – aided by the excellent band and where do certain people find all that beer? 😉
As for the aircraft, they arrived thick and fast all morning. The sky was filled with them in all directions… here’s a few pics to illustrate Steve’s comments. Plenty more to come when I’ve scanned ’em…

Not sure I’ve seen so many microlights in one place before. Here’s a mere fraction:
And this glorious beastie!
And some of those American classics… 😀
Thanks to Steve and the rest of the Key guys for organising it in the first place!

Carolyn: I can’t add to what has already been said, but I am sure we would all try and do our bit to help where possible to do so. I hope the series has helped you in your continuing quest to keep the old girl airborne for all of us lesser mortals to see. Look forward to seeing both of you around the airshow circuit this year and for many more to come!
By: Ashley - 16th February 2004 at 11:13
No, thank you Carolyn. Working at Duxford I often see you taking to the skies in ML407 and always stop what I’m doing to watch you. Always impressive, and always awe-inspiring.
