It was mentioned by one forum member in a thread a couple of days ago, but I’ve been waiting ’til today to say anything about it. Those who have bought this month’s Airliner World, may have noticed a familiar name on page 30/31. The photo on the rear of the front cover, of EZNC climbing out is also mine.
I started reading AW from the very first issue and have done since. For all those years I always admired the photos in the magazine, and could never imagine that in a few years time I’d ever be taking them myself! But through strokes of luck it’s now happened, and all I can say is thanks. If it wasn’t for the people on this forum, I wouldn’t have got anywhere close.
About 2 years ago, I posted my first digital shot (and here it is for those who can’t remember).

Quite frankly it’s cr@p, but people still said ‘nice shot’, ‘well done’. Those comments made me carry on, I could go to the airport and look forward to getting home, just to hear people’s kind comments.
Things ever so slightly improved and the encouragement kept coming:

After a couple of years of bombarding the forum with photos, the friendliness still exists. If it wasn’t for that, I would probably have never got further than that first shot.
I’d also like to thank people who have agreed to my crazy requests such as Mark L, driving me around at 5am on more than one occasion!
And there’s another person who I’d like to mention, but unfortauntely he does not post here. His name is Michael Catchpole, some may recognise the name from a few of his shots on airliners.net/jp.net. If it wasn’t for his knowledge/skill, I would never have known where to start with half my photos, let alone what camera equipment to take them with!
So I hope you didn’t mind me going on a bit..cheers! 🙂
