Most of you know that song ‘For auld lang sign’…or however its spelt… but apparently, only 21 % of us know the second line !!. I dont…I just end up going ‘na na nana nananahh etc etc.
Who out there is going to own up to knowing it and more inportantly, being able to sing all the way through when its required ?
And what does it mean ‘For auld lang etc etc ?
Is it sung in every country or do you have your own version of a new years song ?. Let us know

Thank you Mongu, those couple of lines you wrote suddenly brought back the memory of my mom singing this at the top of her voice with tears in her eyes. I hadn’t remembered that for years….

The words are probably lost in the mists of time, or alcohol fumes. I doubt if many people are sober when they sing it so the words aren’t really an issue. It’s like the drunken pub singer, half the crowd recognise the tune and are so drunk they join in while the half who are sober are rolling on the floor laughing at those who are singing.
