Totally agree Andrew, no one’s ever had any problem with trip reports before, seems amazing that one thread with which the majority of the members of the forums disagreed with, could put the webbie into action.

Personally i couldnt see any problem with people writing up Flight/trip reports on the normal commercial aviation forum. Everyone (if they wanted) used to respond to them, even look at them/read them!

In my eyes, with regards to these two new forums, your bickering over something that to many people has never been such a HUGE! issue before. Its a commercial forum, for commercial aviation topics… so pictures of commericial aircraft, news, trip reports on commercial aircraft, airport visits and so, its an endless list…. to me they are all, and always have been welcomed on the commercial forums, and up until now there has never been any complaints.

Bothering the webbie over nothing in my opinion, it was fine the way it was. Each section of aviation had its own forum, now with complaints herer, there and everywhere, i expect in the end, there will be new forums cropping up all over the place. Photography forum, hobby forum and so on.

I really cant see the point of the two new forums, because what was posted a vast majority of the time on the commercial forum was in fact in the right place.

I dont like this idea…. i dont want this to become like airwise or airliners.net. It becomes too confusing and utterly ridiculous. Soon AFM people will ask for a forum for war strategies and Flypast people for pics or whatever. One forums for everything is enough.

I’m not sure how I feel about this forum as I think the trip reports were a nice part of the commercial forum. I do however think that the Flight Sim forum is a very good idea as this will keep everyone happy.

Well not really, because if I’m popping down to STN it’s more of a visit really. There’s hardly a ‘trip’ to report, unless you want me to include details of the lamp posts and signs i pass on the way :rolleyes:

Everyone here knows that by “trip Report” it is a FLIGHT that is meant on this forum.

Already, I think this is the wrong kind of thing to be posting here MANAIRPORTMAD. Trip report on this forum to me means more ‘flight report’ than ‘visit to airport report’. Your photos from spotting ‘trips’ to your local/favourite airport would be best left on the normal forum.

My vote is against this sub-thread for trip reports unless it remains solely for ‘flight reports’ (which I do think is a good idea)

Is this for trip reports as in when you’ve been on a flight, and you’re doing a report on the whole thing?

Or trip reports as in if I’ve been for a trip upto Stansted in the evening, and have come back with a few photos and reg’s?

mmm, I have to think about this one, I like it in some ways, I mean, if you put a trip report on here, it won’t go right down the list with other topics when you’ve put alot of effort into it, but on the other hand, it made the commercial forum have more of a variety but I guess we’ll have to see what comes out of it…
