Can some one out there tell me what the 10 signs of aging are. If I knew, perhaps I could ward them off, or, in deperation, purchase the product that reduces them (whatever they are)…

Bloody hell!Llighten up a bit for God’s sake. I’m going through it with ‘someone close’, that someone being my Dad. There are times, not often, when we can both laugh at his increasing dementia. You see, I’ve now got three Dads, and I’m never sure which one is coming down the stairs. It could be good Dad, which becomes clear within a few minutes of him getting up. It could be bad Dad which isn’t always clear straight away because it’s easy to confuse him with the stranger that sometimes comes down the stairs. It usually becomes clear which it is when the aggression starts. It’s my choice to try and maintain him at home for as long as I can and when good Dad is here they are moments to cherish. I find humour in dementia, I have to, otherwise I would be overwhelmed by the inevitable sadnesses to come. You see he is going to die twice. He will die mentally and then later, possibly much later, his body will die. For some, and we have a strong family history of dementia, it is just part of the fun of getting old.
Have I taken offence at anyone’s comments? Of course not. If I can take what my Dad says I can cope with the comments of a stranger.
Sorry for rambling and it might well be off topic but for me and especially my Dad it has definitely become the defining sign of the ageing process.

T64, Perhaps if you had put a “Smiley” at the end, it wouldn’t have seemed so personal.
I had to go through that with my mother, who was dying of Cancer and dementure. In her case, a sense of humour would have fallen on deaf ears.

awfull condition to watch take hold too
but i’ll never appologise for what was intended as a humourous leg pull !!

All very informative, but we only have Jim’s, frankly feeble, explanation of the 10 signs! I still don’t know whether to pop into Boots or not! Is there someone from Oil of Ulay that can help. Oh sorry Olay…

I can think of one sign, and that is spending more time on general discussion boards than is ordinarily good for you.

Looking through your list, Jim, I think I’ve been suffering from most of those since I was about 30!
I think the MOST noticible thing is, wifey has a headache EVERY night and other “Things”, that puts paid to you know what:p but never bothers to take tablets for same or go to the Drs.;)

Well guys I was at a 25th wedding anniversary for my cousin last night and there was live music. All of that side of the family play music. My cousin plays Piano and Accordian in scottish dance bands all over the world. My Cousins man plays his own folk stuff and has a wedding band called The Last Resort. My 2 second cousins play their own stuff. The youngest played drums in his dads band last night for a giggle. He was good. And the elder of the two played acoustic versions of a few different songs. But the point was that it was the oldies showing up the youngsters last night with the dancing that was going on. A few younger people joined in but it was mostly the oldies. Not a pretty sight I can assure you but great to see everyone having so much fun.

First sign is spelling ageing as aging unless you’re American according to google :)….it used to worry me but I’m beginning not to care.

Guess it depends on how old you are now.But will give it a try.
1) If married, you find you are being put on by her indoors to do things you would have yrs ago, but can’t be arsed to do so now.
“2) In the USA I drove 671 miles in one day, now, I try to max out at 350, and thats to go and see my son in Cornwall.
3) You visit the Dentist more often, to have your false teeth polished:D
4).You probably did repairs on your car, but can’t be bothered now, and take it to the garage.
5) You seemed to get “Picked on” by your wife for the smallest things, that would have once gone un noticed.
6) You wonder why you have to get out of bed 2 or 3 times a night for a “P”, if you do, GO SEE YOUR Dr, seriously.
7) If waiting to be served in a shop, the 25yrs old Blonde will get served prior to you.
8).When you go to a party the younger generation tend to ignore you.
9)Your kids ask you for money, as they think you are loaded.
10). Folks named Banupa ask irritating questions, that wind you up;):D
11) One extra as a bonus, You find more of your hair on your hairbrush than on your head!
Friday I was with my wife in a Cafe having a C of T and toast. about 20 feet way were two women, one of which had a very strident voice that everyone could hear for miles.sitting 3 tables away.
My wife and I were trying to have a conversation, but could not hear each other.
In the end, I lost it totaly, stood up, and shouted to the woman, “I don’t want to hear all your Bl***y business, no one can hear anything other than you shouting” The whole of the occupants in the cafe clapped, whistled, and agreed.
Once upon a time. I would never in a million yrs do anything like that, anyway the “T” certainly tasted better after that, AND as an added bonus wife and I got our T and toast free by the owner, result for being a miserable old git.:diablo:
