The Air Calvary

now with some issues on topic 🙂

Okay the air assualt brigades and divisions
such as the 101st ,16th air assualt
do they really add up for their cap??
(helos r expensive, and fragile)
Does it take much to equip a regular divison to handle them?
with increased GBAD assets or with some light scout helos equip with AAMs?(okay the thing is cost effectiveness)
With the condition that air superiority is uncertain.
In my POV the most difficult part of them to counteract is their attack helos.(anyone with some good ideas to counteract them…..
other than another attack helo 🙂
As for the air transported ground element which is most likely made up of light forces+some light artillery and their relatively fragile transport helos,well they can be dealt with using conventional means
Can they hold their own?if they r on their own without others present,such as armoured forces.

what is their strenghts?
what is their weakness?
how useful they really, if faced by a capable opponent with some decent Anti air cap+some skill+some courage+with some decent cover?

Vietnam……
Afganistan……
Mogadisu…..
and even Greneda…
And the disastrous assualt on Koh Tang island

r they suited for high intensity engagements/conflicts?
(where it is not one sided)
