Got a copy and enjoyed looking at this latest report on the Amiens Raid in addition to began reading the new J.P. Ducellier book . Now all my past knowledge of what I thought I knew about the raid have been blown apart with all this new info. Top notch documentary with the BBC2 & Martin Shaw’s effort here.
I thought many of the paper records here would not be accessable due to many being off limits due to the secrets act,……nice to see some of these documents have become accessable to researchers. So now there is a question as to who wanted the raid flown by these brave RAF pilots ?
More questions & back stories with these old questions coming again into the public eye. Was there someone being held captive who knew something about the upcoming Operation Overlord ??? Look forward to more hopefully coming out in the future….good topic here on the forum to think about and discuss.
Nice to see the resources of the BBC applied here ….. This mystery deepens…someone call in The Saint & Sherlock Holmes !!!!
Hope many of you will offer your thoughts & views on this book & BBC2 documentary in the future here!
Thanks

I can’t imagine why some details would still be covered under the Official Secrets Act.
The war ended 66 years ago, the Allies won against a regime that no longer exists. I’d wager that all the planners are dead so they don’t need protecting.
No secret weapons were used, so it’s probably not anything technical.
Perhaps something to do with French internal matters?
Or perhaps the raid was a dress rehearsal for something similar or a diversion.
