The Aussies are not far off trying to get a new World Land speed record, with their new MISSILE named Aussie Invader 5R.
They are going to attempt to break the 1,000 MPH barrier.
Rosco McGlashan is getting it all together.
They publish a monthly News letter, informing of the progress made.
It’s certainly worth subscribing to their News letter, and marvel at all the engineering skills needed to attempt to build this record breaker.

I agree – the thought of several attempts on 1,000mph + over the next 4/5 years is very exciting.:eagerness:

Thanks Chas for that bit of info. (Better make sure we are both still alive and kicking to see it all take place 😀 )

Jetblack, Linc. A relatively new entrant with a mixed powerplant and due to run 2016 I think.

They have indeed – The Eagle, an F 104 with wings cut off and wheels attached, as well as Steve Fossetts project which has been taken over since his death and New Zealand has a team as well.
Chas, Any idea as to what the New Zealand projects called? It may well be the dark horse in this race.

EEL. Me too, however, the one thing you can rely on, is that one cannot rely on the Beeb these days, they have lost a lot of street cred in my opinion. But one can live in hope.

I’m very much looking forward to this. Since the BBC help report the progress of Bloodhound I do hope they’ll have a live showing on BBC TV! It’d be foolish not to! They have to show that the UK hasn’t lost any of it’s edge in the engineering department…

Have the Americans got anything in the melting pot?.They used to be the ones to beat, but all seems quiet, on the Western Front these days.

I’ve been following this http://www.bloodhoundssc.com/ for a very long time. The Brits/Richard Noble have held it for exactly 30 years and I am sure they will retain it next year.

Last Lightning. Many thanks for that input. I was unaware of our project, and will follow it’s progress.
Can’t wait to see US winning the record again.:eagerness:
