RE: The best of British

Personally give me a mini over an imp anyday but the reliant schimitar is a great car. I think the same goes in the car world as it does in aviation we all have different ideals and tastes.

The car I have a great deal of affection for is the new style of TVR sorry for not chossing a classic but the shape and style of the TVR’s are just great. But if we really must talk classics then give me a AC Shelby Cobra anyday.

The aircraft I really like prop wise would be the Typhoon it just looks great and jet wise it has to be the Hunter but the Sea Vixen really impressed me recently.

I agree with Yak- the Scimitar was a beautiful car, in both looks & HANDLING (which the Mini certainly wasn’t. What understeer?!!!!). As for the Mini’s character? It’s a shed with a wheel at each corner! (I learnt to drive on a Scimitar & Triumph 2.5 PI) My mate has rebuilt his Mk1 Scimitar, which included a few add on extras in the engine department – nearly 450 bhp! You need bike clips round your trousers- adrenalin is definitly BROWN! Superb piece of British engineering!

Personally, I preferred the Imp, over the Mini any day. Much better handling, especially with a 1300cc lump in the back!

Well Personally I love the good old Mini, especially the 67 GTI clubman sport, as for the Spit, I’d prefer a Beau, but thems the breaks!

The wonderful piece of british engineering I drive is a Reliant Scimitar, can’t be doing with Minis, come to think of it I can’t summon up a lot of enthusiasm for Spitfires, give me a Hurricane any day
