As I have said on another thread.
The photography posted on this site is (in my opinion) good enough for some of the magazines currently avaliable, certainly in the UK.
What about arranging a photographic competition?
This web-site is part of Flypast. Lets show these people some encouragement and appreciate the enthusiasm these guys send out through these pages..
We have enough contacts out there.
My suggestion is…
Flypast could organise the competition through its magazine.
The judges can be found right here on the forum.
Senior Judges can be found amoungst our resident ‘Experts.’
I see that the BBMF are asking for pictures, they must be impressed.
How about the BBMF supplying the Prize. What about a seat in the Lancaster, on route to a display with Spits and Hurricanes as escort?
As I say, Just a suggestion.. Enyone interested???

Okay it would benifit Uk based entrants, but there seems to be enough ‘Names’ from the warbird industry appearing on this forum to help arrange prizes for people in other countries if that is whats needed. Even a years subscription to Flypast…. I don’t know..
Any ‘prize’ would show these guys that we appreciate what they are doing. A way of saying thank you.
I take pictures for a living and I have seen some pictures that I would love to be able to say ‘I took that.’

Good prize suggestion, Rob, not everyone on this Forum lives in the UK, something that I sometimes feel is forgotten. Not that I would have any chance in a competition, but let’s not forget you Yanks and the Kiwis, for example.

Nice idea but what about us on this side of the pond, it would be real hard to get over for that Lanc. rude they could always bring them to are side of the pond 😀
I think maybe Flypast could give away some real nice books or better yet thewinning photo guys have a spread in an upcoming issue of Flypast.
It would be good PR for the Forum. 😎

Sounds good, although I am but a novice! It might be an idea to have different categories etc…
I guess practice makes perfect so I better get the camera out then as I need plenty of it!
As you said, some of the photography is simply stunning, and have raised the odd goosebump now and then!
