dark light

The biggest day of my life!

It’s time to grow up……ahhhh! At 2PM tomorrow (16th) I start at Oxford Aviation Training for my ATPL. 16 months of 13 hour days, lots of flying and very little sleep…I can’t wait!

I just want to say a huge thank you to all of you, you’ve supported me all the way and it’s really driven me on. I’ll still be around but not as much as usual. I’ve just purchased http://www.superflyboy.com! Catchy name or what!! It’s not online yet but when it is it will have an online diary, photos and a forum. I really want to use it to encourage others to realise their dreams and become pilots and to keep you guys updated on my progress. Please check the site out, keep in touch and make comments freely! I hope it will give you an insight as I go from almost nil hours to the right hand seat of an airliner.

I’d love to show any of you round OAT, if you ever want to come and visit drop me a PM and we’ll sort something out.

Thanks once again, keep in touch (I’ll still be posting!)

Martin

P.S. I’ll post a photo of me in my crowning glory (My uniform) over the weekend 😀

Martin, I wanted to post earlier and wish you the very best of luck. You may have days ahead where you might get cheesed off but I hope you stick with it because the rewards will be there at the end.

Thanks once again guys, your good luck messages are obviously having a major effect. Our first day of Crew Resource Management took place today and was a real success despite the fact that the day started on a worrying note highlighting crashes that have been caused by bad team work on the flight deck.

Wys, the ex-FA (Emma) worked for Go from the first day of operations until the day before they were handed the new easyJet uniforms after the takeover. She really loved the airline. It’s a pitty they are no longer flying.

Good to hear you’re enjoying it, Martin.

As for women, it’s a shame there aren’t more of them flying. An equal number of men to women would be good 🙂 What are the chances of getting a female pilot and co-pilot on a flight? I’ve experienced that, very smooth!

Well, I can safely say that today was the best day of my life!!! There’s 21 of us on the course and from the outset we got on amazingly well. There’s 19 guys and 2 girls. Today was a basic introduction to the school, uniform fitting etc. Then all of us went to the pub for what was one of the most enjoyable evenings of my life. We’re a very wide range of people, ranging from me, a seventeen year old, to an ex stewardess and business men!

I’ll keep you all updated, only 8 hours until I have to be back up there!
