Bf 109G-6 “MT-452” has been standing in a display case near the Utti Air Base for decades. However, for the next six months it will be the crown jewel of the new exhibition opened at the Finnish Aviation Museum in Vantaa celebrating the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the first Messerschmitts to the Finnish Air Force.
The plane is also checked for any damage and will be restored to withstand the next decades in its display case at Utti. A Bf 109 seminar will be held at the Museum in March. The only preserved Morane-Saulier M.S.50 in the World will take its place at the case for the duration of the loan.

Hi Martti:
I remember driving past the Me109 in 1987 on the way to a papermill in the area. I think it was out in the open at that time, and in the middle of winter!
I also spent a day in the excellent museum beside Helsinki airport. Very impressive.
Regards
Bill
