With all the news items today centred on the RAF Battle of Britain pilots and Churchill’s well known wartime speech can I take this spot to remember that the Fleet Air Arm also took part. Many FAA crews flew with Fighter Command. Douglas Bader’s wingman was SubLt R J Cork. He was one of three Naval pilots with 242 Squadron. Both 804 and 808 Squadrons also took part. You might not get many a mention but we remember you.
