Interesting to see that the jets of today have only shaved about 7-9 hours off for the standard Sydney trip in the past 40odd years

Not enough? 7-9 hours makes a lot of difference.

Been in storage for quite awhile and a bunch of Qantas guys have been working on it, cleaning it up etc. Will be flying out some time in the next few weeks i guess

Cheers,
Sam

Ahh, thanks guys. Never knew this was ex Qantas, remember seeing this bird in LHR loads of times, saw it at SEN on my visits and thought she was to be cannibalised. Great news she will once more fly.
Now….off to hassle the boss for a job to Southend 😀 😀 😀

Its so refreshing to see an Airline and Government taking a proactive roll in preserving old airplanes from their history.

If only there were more Governments and Airlines so interested in their heritage as Australia and Qantas.
