The one thing that confuses me is the fin, I always thought that the T.2 had the taller narrow chord fin and the T.4 the nearer to GR.3 size but with slightly increased chord near its base?
269 appears to have the latter which would make it a T.4 with a GR.1/T.2 nose cone fitted.
Or have I got this completely wrong?

Interesting bits in the cockpit -moving map looks like a GR.5 item-not sure on the right hand MPCD.

To quote the auction listing…

“this aircraft cockpit is correctly kitted out with a Harrier GR5 moving map display as it was when last in service”

and… “The right hand MFD screen in the cockpit is a photo stat mock up and not a real unit.”

I wrote a letter in disgust to the idiots at number 10 when the cuts came out and have only just today actualy got a reply from some gofer. A lot of usual political waffle about the need to be efficient, and cost effective and all that crap we keep hearing. But he did finish by saying that unlike the Nimrods being scrapped the Harriers and our Aircraft carrier are presently being touted around foreign governments to see who wants them at a bargain price.

So I dont think that surplus Harriers and spares will be coming on the market any day to soon.

Whats this then Indian military get new carrier with Harriers thrown in all for 6 million rupees and 25 years supply of pompadoms BARGAIN David what do you think ??.

No – It has been stripped of its Rolls Royce engine! 😉

If that’s the case then £58.36p
